Softball Recap: Clear Fork Takes a Loss

Clear Fork lost against Hillsdale back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Colts fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Miley Shafer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, Mya Perry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailly Thrush, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Clear Fork's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Hillsdale, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Clear Fork and Hillsdale should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Colts (ranked 141st) will meet Pleasant (ranked 357th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hillsdale will challenge Smithville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (20 vs. 538).
