Softball Recap: Purdy Comes Up Short

Purdy fell victim to Mt. Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost five in a row.

Purdy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mt. Vernon, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 defeat against Diamond on the 25th. Hopefully Purdy payed attention to Mt. Vernon's match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
