Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. McLane Highlanders

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against McLane. The Rough Riders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Roosevelt lost 12-4 to McLane on Wednesday. The Rough Riders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For McLane's part, Isaac Montes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Montes is becoming a predictor of McLane's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Montes was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Max Corona was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Austin Lassley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1. As for McLane, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.
