Basketball Game Preview: Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils vs. Bald Eagle Area Eagles

The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Bald Eagle Area Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellwood-Antis is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Friday, Bellwood-Antis came up short against Chestnut Ridge and fell 62-51. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Lions are ranked 194th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jackson Dorminy, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Shedlock, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Bald Eagle Area was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Saturday as they fell 46-42 to Philipsburg-Osceola. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellwood-Antis' record is now 0-7. As for Bald Eagle Area, their record is now 1-7.

Bellwood-Antis came up short against Bald Eagle Area when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 37-33. Can Bellwood-Antis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
