Football Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They were dealt a 49-0 defeat at the hands of the Raines Vikings. The game marked the first time this season in which the Generals were not able to get on the board.

As for Raines, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Timothy Cole produced another solid effort throwing for 170 yards and two TDs while completing 90% of his passes, and also rushing for 52 yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (168.8). Another player making a difference was Tadarius Washington, who rushed for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Riverside will face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Raines, they will take on Ribault at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
