Basketball Recap: Montgomery Central Comes Up Short

Montgomery Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Ledford Panthers 80-44. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 83-30 to the Panthers when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Josiah Everette and Christopher Curtis certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Everette posted 21 points and three steals, while Curtis went 5-for-9 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. Curtis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Lindsey, who earned three points and eight boards.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Ledford, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Montgomery Central will challenge Central Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Ledford, they will take on Lexington Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 65.8 points per game this season.
