Soccer Game Preview: Arab vs. Guntersville

Arab hasn't had much luck against Guntersville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will look to defend their home pitch against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Arab's win against Scottsboro wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Wildcats 4-3. Considering Arab's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Scottsboro with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maci Mier, Brionna Cox, Kelee Cole, and Julianna Jernigan.

Meanwhile, Guntersville entered their tilt with Albertville on Tuesday with 13 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 14. Their defense stepped up to hand the Aggies a 3-0 shutout. Considering Guntersville have won 11 matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Guntersville pushed their record up to 17-3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Arab, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
