Sullivan East and David Crockett are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. David Crockett took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sullivan East, who comes in off a win.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sullivan East and Chuckey-Doak, and Sullivan East kept the tradition alive. The Patriots walked away with a 9-6 win over the Black Knights on Friday.

Zach Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Lingerfelt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Takoda Crowder also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Sullivan East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chuckey-Doak struck out eight times.
Elizabethton hit David Crockett with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers fell 9-6 to the Fighting Cyclones. The Pioneers have struggled against the Fighting Cyclones recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Aj Ford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Gabe Story was another key player, earning two RBI and one stolen base.
Sullivan East's record is now 7-16. As for David Crockett, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.
Sullivan East came up short against David Crockett when the teams last played on April 2nd, falling 13-9. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
