Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Crusaders vs. Salem Wildcats
Sacred Heart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 50-31 bruising from the Salem Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 54-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
Kira Bridges continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Salem, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Bridges is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games she's played. Jyniah Carr was another key player, going 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals.
Sacred Heart's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Salem, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart will take on Lumberton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they will challenge East Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
