Softball Recap: Scituate Falls Short Against Ranked St. Raphael Academy

Scituate faced St. Raphael Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Spartans came up short against the Saints, falling 14-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Scituate saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelyn Chatelle, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Chatelle is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Scituate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for St. Raphael Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coming up, Scituate will face off against Cumberland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Clippers at the right time seeing as the Clippers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. Raphael Academy, they will square off against Coventry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
