Lyndhurst faced Nutley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Bears' defense stepped up to hand the Maroon Raiders a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Lyndhurst, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Lyndhurst's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Nutley, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyndhurst will head out to face off against Eastern Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nutley, they will face off against East Side at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Side will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Nutley surely won't give up without a fight.
