Recap: Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets vs. St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by St. Pius X Catholic at home to the tune of 49-0. The victory was just business as usual for Thomas County Central, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Trey Brenton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 118 yards on only 13 carries. Malachi Thomas also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Thomas County Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.5 points per game. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Thomas County Central will play host again and welcome Jonesboro, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Thomas County Central is ranked fourth). St. Pius X Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
