The Central Bucks East Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Bucks East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Central Bucks East will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Souderton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Indians 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Mike Scafidi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central Bucks East is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Mason Cruz was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Sean Hill Jr was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Plymouth Whitemarsh put up some runs last Thursday, the same can't be said for Hatboro-Horsham. The Colonials skirted past the Hatters 2-0.
Not much got past Max Eagland, who gave up just two hits to keep Hatboro-Horsham off the board. Eagland has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Eagland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Caucci, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Central Bucks East's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Central Bucks East came out on top in a nail-biter against Plymouth Whitemarsh in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Colonials have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
