Basketball Recap: Nathan Vasquez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Port of Los Angeles over Legacy

Port of Los Angeles fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Legacy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. The contest between the Polar Bears and the Tigers didn't end well, with the Polar Bears falling 72-55. If the Polar Bears were looking for revenge after losing 69-56 to the Tigers when the teams met back in December of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Polar Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Vasquez, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Hallet, who posted seven points and 16 boards.

Port of Los Angeles is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Legacy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Port of Los Angeles will take on Annenberg on Wednesday. As for Legacy, they will square off against San Fernando at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Legacy will be up against San Fernando's rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
