Basketball Recap: Joey Benally Key Part of Team Effort in Sand Devils Win + How To Watch

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Page ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 54-49 W over the Kirtland Central Broncos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sand Devils also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Page's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Benally, who posted 23 points and six rebounds. Noah Reid was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 15 boards.

Page smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kirtland Central only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Kirtland Central still got an impressive performance from Kole Boy, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Landen Lee, who earned 11 points and six boards.

The win got Page back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Page will challenge Benjamin Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kirtland Central, they will face off against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
