Baseball Recap: Little River Academy Has No Trouble Against Coldspring-Oakhurst

After only one run in their last contest, Little River Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Coldspring-Oakhurst on Thursday. The Little River Academy Bumblebees put the hurt on the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans with a sharp 15-2 win. The Bumblebees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Kaleb Quilty was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Cylar Fuentes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Little River Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. Coldspring-Oakhurst's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Coincidentally, Little River Academy and Coldspring-Oakhurst will both be playing Navasota the next time they take the field. Coldspring-Oakhurst will head out to face Navasota at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Little River Academy will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
