Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Colts vs. Sam Houston Texans

The Arlington Colts will head out to challenge the Sam Houston Texans at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Arlington was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to South Grand Prairie. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Warriors are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 71-55 bruising from Bowie.

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Sam Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Arlington was able to grind out a solid win over Sam Houston in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 61-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arlington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
