Ashley Herndon named girls National Soccer Player of the Week presented by Playtex Sport

Virginia leads the way thus far in great spring girls soccer teams, and Ashley Herndon is leading the record book at Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.).

The Bulldogs were slotted at No. 4 in the first Xcellent 25 National Girls Soccer Rankings this week at 6-0-1 behind Herndon's spectacular play. Because of that she is the National Player of the Week Presented by Playtex Sport.

Herndon knocked in five goals to break the school record and help her team to a big 6-0 triumph over South Lakes, and last week against Fairfax she was instrumental in a 3-0 victory.

Stone Bridge won the Group AAA title last year in Virginia, and you can bet the Bulldogs have a shot at another one with Herndon's great play.
