Softball Recap: Straughn Takes a Loss

After flying high against New Brockton on Tuesday, Straughn came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Brantley Bulldogs on Friday, falling 10-4. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Straughn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annlee Wise, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Straughn's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Brantley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Straughn will welcome Bullock County at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Brantley, they will take on Clarke County in a tournament on Saturday. Clarke County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.71 runs per game on average), something Brantley will no doubt try to take advantage of.
