Football Recap: Lovelady Starts off Right with Win over Elkhart

Lovelady gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-13 victory over the Elkhart Elks. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Elks, too.

Elkhart lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dalton Walker, who rushed for 127 yards and one score, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Javon Smith, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Lovelady will be playing in front of their home fans against Timpson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkhart, they will venture away from home to face off against Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
