Ellsworth is 8-2 against Mount Desert Island since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Ellsworth's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Presque Isle 10-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Desert Island). Everything went their way against Caribou on Saturday as they made off with a 21-11 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Colin Sullivan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. What's more, he posted three runs, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Eli Macdonnell was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mount Desert Island always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ellsworth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Desert Island, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5.

Ellsworth came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Desert Island in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
