Volleyball Game Preview: McCollum Cowboys vs. Winn Mavericks + How To Watch

McCollum has gone 9-1 against Winn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cowboys will look to defend their home court against the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McCollum has six straight victories, Winn has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, McCollum earned a 3-1 win over Harlandale.

McCollum had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-10.

McCollum relied on the efforts of Madelynn Ruiz, who had 16 assists and eight digs, and Arianna Sanchez, who had 22 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Sanchez has posted since back in August. Mariah Soliz also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Winn came up short against Southwest Legacy on Friday and fell 3-1.

Winn started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18.

McCollum's victory bumped their record up to 28-7. As for Winn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-26.

McCollum took their win against Winn when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
