Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Wayne Warriors vs. Princeton Bulldogs

Eastern Wayne and Princeton are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Eastern Wayne Warriors will challenge the Princeton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, everything went Eastern Wayne's way against West Craven as Eastern Wayne made off with a 68-48 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Eastern Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tavorus Dunn out in front who posted 19 points. That's the most points Dunn has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Bailey, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Princeton over Jones in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Princeton blew Jones out of the water with a 66-15 final score. The match marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.

Eastern Wayne better keep an eye on Garrett Lane. He was instrumental in Princeton's win, going 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teo McPhatter, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points.

Princeton was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Eastern Wayne, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Eastern Wayne against Princeton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 67-35 victory. Will Eastern Wayne repeat their success, or does Princeton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
