Baseball Game Preview: Milford Mavericks vs. South Lyon Lions

For the second straight game, Milford will face off against South Lyon. The Mavericks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Milford is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Milford fell victim to South Lyon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0.

For South Lyon's part, not much got past Chris Mathis, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Milford off the board.

On the hitting side, South Lyon got a massive performance out of Gavin Crowley, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Crowley has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Robinson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

South Lyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got South Lyon back to even at 4-4. As for Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
