Volleyball Recap: Serena Takes a Loss

Serena lost against Indian Creek back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Serena Huskers fell just short of the Indian Creek Timberwolves by a score of 2-1. The Huskers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Serena started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Anna Hjerpe paced Serena's offense, picking up six kills. Hjerpe got some help from Macy Mahler and her 15 assists. Finally, Jenna Setchell kept Serena's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Serena's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Indian Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11-2 record this season.

Serena wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Gardner-South Wilmington on the 24th. Indian Creek has also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Lisle on the 24th.
