Softball Recap: Richland Rebels vs. Winona Wildcats
Richland extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They lost 25-5 to the Winona Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-14 on Tuesday.
As for Winona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Winona's part, the team relied heavily on Alexis Hagler, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Alyssa Vermillion was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland will square off against Campbell at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Winona, they will take on Bakersfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
