Iona Prep had already won seven in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Salesian Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Gaels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Iona Prep had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17.

Brett Muscatella paced Iona Prep's offense, picking up 15 kills. Muscatella got some help from Alexander Longsworth and his 30 assists. Longsworth also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Christian Vega, racking up two apiece.

Iona Prep pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Iona Prep and Salesian will both be playing Regis the next time they take the court. Salesian will host Regis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Iona Prep will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
