Baseball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Seminary Has No Trouble Against St. Charles

Michigan Lutheran Seminary had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt St. Charles on Wednesday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The Cardinals have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary let Caleb Martin and Noah Reif run wild. Martin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Reif went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Martin a new career-high. Ethan Wakefield was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Charles only posted an OBP of .292.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for St. Charles, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
