Volleyball Recap: Timber Creek Comes Up Short

After flying high against Trinity last Friday, Timber Creek came back down to earth. The Falcons came up short against the Keller Indians on Friday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Timber Creek was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-22, 25-17.

Lexi Caprio paced Timber Creek's offense, picking up seven kills. Caprio got some help from Tala Wolfe and her 11 assists. Lillian Day and Nylah Lewis kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Keller's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Scheiden, who had 16 digs and four assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Barnes, who had 12 assists and seven digs.

Timber Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Keller, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home.

Coincidentally, Timber Creek and Keller will both be playing V.R. Eaton the next time they take the court. The Falcons will head out to face the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
