Baseball Recap: Clearfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clearfield can now relate to. They lost 7-1 to the Spanish Fork Dons on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Friday.

Clearfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Frei, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Clearfield now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Spanish Fork, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-16.

Clearfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spanish Fork, they will challenge Alta at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Dons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
