Softball Recap: Burrillville Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Portsmouth

Burrillville faced Portsmouth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Broncos came up short against the Patriots, falling 20-3. If the Broncos were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Adrianna Carter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Burrillville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Portsmouth, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Burrillville will be playing at home against Johnston at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Portsmouth, they will face off against Ludlowe at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
