Basketball Recap: Fashion Industries' Losing Streak Snapped at 13 Games

Fashion Industries had to endure a 13-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tottenville Pirates a 12-0 shutout on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Pirates are ranked 95th).

Fashion Industries' victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Tottenville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Fashion Industries will take on New Dorp at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in New Dorp's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Tottenville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Irving at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tottenville is facing Irving at the right time seeing as Irving is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
