Football Recap: Wheatland Falls to Mitchell in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Wheatland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Mitchell Tigers and fell 44-14. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mitchell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Galloway out in front who picked up 124 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Galloway a new career-high. Mitchell also got a significant boost from Josh Hazzard, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

Looking ahead, Wheatland will take on Torrington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mitchell, they will face off against Gering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
