Baseball Preview: Pelion Panthers vs. Batesburg-Leesville Panthers

Pelion has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Pelion fell victim to a rough 10-4 defeat at the hands of Lewis County.

Pelion saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Pelion hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis County struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak last Friday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 8-1 walloping at the hands of Fox Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Batesburg-Leesville has scored all season.

Pelion dropped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
