Basketball Recap: North Miami Beach Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the North Miami Beach Chargers came up short against the Downtown Doral Dolphins and fell 52-44.

Despite the loss, North Miami Beach still got an impressive performance from Jephte Noel, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. Noel is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mateo Zamora, who posted 14 points.

Giancarlo Romero continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Downtown Doral, shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Paolo Guerrero was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

North Miami Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Downtown Doral, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

North Miami Beach will take on Dillard in a tournament on Saturday. As for Downtown Doral, they will face off against St. Brendan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
