Starmount won the last time they faced Alleghany and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rams blew past the Trojans 14-2. Considering the Rams have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Emmanuel Vasquez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Starmount is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alleghany, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
