Recap: Pflugerville Panthers vs. Pflugerville Connally Cougars
The Pflugerville Panthers lost against the Pflugerville Connally Cougars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pflugerville took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pflugerville Connally. While losing is never fun, Pflugerville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 618th, while Pflugerville Connally is ranked 295th).
Pflugerville Connally was led to victory by Jordan Wright and Mekhai Bryant. Wright scored 14 points along with seven steals, while Bryant scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Bryant hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Doe, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Pflugerville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Pflugerville Connally, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Pflugerville will head out on the road to take on Elgin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elgin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Pflugerville likes a good challenge. As for Pflugerville Connally, they will be playing at home against Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hendrickson is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
