Softball Recap: Dannea Wundrow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stanley-Boyd over Bloomer

Stanley-Boyd might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Bloomer who claimed the real prize. The Orioles might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Blackhawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Orioles in their meetings with the Blackhawks: they've now lost six in a row.

Caitlen Ketterhagen was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ketterhagen wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dannea Wundrow, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Aaliyah Allard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Stanley-Boyd's record is now 8-3. As for Bloomer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.
