Preview: Wisner-Pilger Gators vs. Stanton Mustangs
Wisner-Pilger and Stanton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The pair will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wisner-Pilger will be strutting in after a victory while Stanton will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Wisner-Pilger has not done well against Wayne recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Wisner-Pilger came out on top against Wayne by a score of 41-31.
Meanwhile, Stanton was the victim of a rough 62-37 loss at the hands of Pender on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Stanton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Pender is ranked 11th).
Wisner-Pilger's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Stanton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Everything went Wisner-Pilger's way against Stanton when the teams last played back in January as Wisner-Pilger made off with a 55-35 win. With Wisner-Pilger ahead 34-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
