Basketball Recap: Boone Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Boone had won four straight road games and Connor Summer did his part to make it five on Friday. The Boone Braves snuck past the Colonial Grenadiers with a 62-58 win thanks in part to Summer, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played.

Tremaine Woods was another key player, putting up seven steals. He has become a key player for Boone: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 10-12 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Colonial lost, don't look at Silas Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Whitfield Bynoe, who posted 13 points.

Boone's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-13. As for Colonial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Boone beat Colonial by a score of 64-57 on Monday.
