Basketball Game Preview: Spoto Spartans vs. Steinbrenner Warriors

Spoto is 0-3 against Steinbrenner since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Spoto Spartans will look to defend their home court against the Steinbrenner Warriors at 6:30 p.m.

Spoto is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Middleton 46-13.

Meanwhile, Steinbrenner waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took their game with ease, bagging a 62-20 victory over the Titans. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Titans are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Steinbrenner pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Spoto, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Spoto was taken down by Steinbrenner 91-25 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Spoto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
