Basketball Recap: Ganado Takes a Loss

Ganado came up into this matchup off a tough 35-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Tuba City Warriors by a score of 58-55 on Saturday. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Ganado lost, don't look at Kyren Todechine. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 15 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Todechine also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Keon White, who posted 13 points along with five assists and four steals.

Even though they lost, Ganado was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Tuba City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Koyan Saufkie, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deiondre Whiterock, who scored eight points and four steals.

Ganado's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Tuba City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Ganado didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-52 defeat against Window Rock on the 14th. Tuba City has also already played their next contest (against Hopi), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
