Basketball Recap: Hiwassee Dam Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Hiwassee Dam has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 58-49 to the Polk County Wildcats on Wednesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hiwassee Dam's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Polk County, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiwassee Dam won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Copper Basin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. As for Polk County, they will head out to face off against Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
