League recap: Bornt races to league-leading run for Tamarac

Tamarac's David Bornt rumbled for the longest rushing play in Section 2 C - North this season in his game against Catholic Central last week. Bornt scampered for 80 yards on the play and finished with 245 on the day as his team bested the Crusaders.

Hoosick Falls added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Taconic Hills, 68-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Bornt provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tamarac defeated Catholic Central.

Bornt was a beast in the backfield as Erick Roadcap's team topped Carmen Audino's team.

Bornt was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 245 yards on 29 carries as the Bengals topped the Titans. Dan Motzer also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.

Thanks to the talents of Garrett Wright and Brandon Hodges, Ron Jones' team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Wright leads the league in passing with 516 yards, while Hodges has rushed for 485 yards this season. Tamarac's Brandon Barbera leads the league in receiving yards with 176 on 11 catches.

At the moment, the Panthers are in first, while Stillwater is in fourth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hoosick Falls takes on the Warriors. The Panthers have allowed 13 points this season, while Stillwater has given up 77. Hoosick Falls allowed 0 points last week as it defeated Taconic Hills.

Corinth scaled the state rankings by moving to 403 from 474 this week, the biggest jump in Section 2 C - North. The Tomahawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Vince Barbor's team 21-14.
