Baseball Recap: Columbiana Comes Up Short

Columbiana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Hubbard Eagles. If the Clippers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Columbiana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Hubbard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Columbiana is taking a road trip to face off against Mineral Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Clippers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hubbard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
