Baseball Recap: Omaha Westside Victorious

While Omaha Westside's win against Lincoln North Star wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Navigators 4-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Navigators recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Andrew Tagge tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Omaha Westside's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Duncan Hasnen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Easton Lunn also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Omaha Westside's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Lincoln North Star, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.

Looking ahead, Omaha Westside will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Westview at 5:00 p.m. Lincoln North Star does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
