Baseball Recap: Mt. Diablo Comes Up Short

Mt. Diablo lost against Vallejo back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Devils lost 29-4 to the Redhawks. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eduardo Gutierrez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Christopher Yanez Ledezma also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Vallejo, their record is now 8-6.

Coming up, Mt. Diablo will square off against Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Matadors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Vallejo, they will challenge Rio Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
