Softball Game Preview: Wood Memorial Trojans vs. Dugger Union Bulldogs

The Wood Memorial Trojans will take on the Dugger Union Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wood Memorial has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wood Memorial took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Loogootee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans skirted past the Lions 18-16. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Dugger Union fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Martinsville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluestreaks. The defeat leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

Kaelyn Barton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Dugger Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wood Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
