Football Recap: Linc Allen and Landon Kimbell Secure Win for Trion

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Trion ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 26-20 W over the Greenville Patriots. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the better team in the second half.

Leading Trion to victory were Landon Kimbell and Linc Allen. Kimbell rushed for 155 yards and one score while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, while Allen rushed for 98 yards on only ten carries. Those 98 rushing yards gave Allen a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trion was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Loss or not, Greenville got some senior leadership from Jamere Smith and Marquel Deering. Smith picked up 173 receiving yards, while Deering rushed for 116 yards on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 105.1 receiving yards per game.

Trion's record is now 4-5. As for Greenville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Trion and Greenville will both be playing Bowdon the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
