Speedway has gone 9-1 against Beech Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sparkplugs will be playing at home against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Speedway and 12 for Beech Grove.

On Tuesday, Speedway didn't have quite enough to beat Decatur Central and fell 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Speedway sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-22, 14-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Beech Grove lost 3-0 to Indianapolis Crispus Attucks on Wednesday.

Beech Grove was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-23.

Beech Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-24. As for Speedway, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.

Speedway took their win against Beech Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Sparkplugs repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
